Goshen 106, Wawasee 80 - Win.

The Goshen boys swim team cruised to a 106-80 win over NLC foe Wawasee on Saturday at Wawasee Middle School. Goshen was led by triple winners Clancy Short and Alex Podgorski. Double winners were Tommy Palczynski and Daniel Swihart. Other winners were Tyler James, Philip Badzuh, Ian Duell, and Sam Bowser. Bowser won diving with a personal best score of 162.50. Other personal bests were turned in by James in the 200 IM, Kyle Butler in the 100 and 200 free, Badzuh in the 200 free and 100 fly, Alex Metcalfe in the 200 IM and 100 fly, Trevor Wood and CJ Hanna in the 50 free, Andre Buller in diving, Marcus Guilfoos in the 100 free, and Gabe Chenier who shattered his best time by over two seconds in the 100 breaststroke.

The Goshen girls swim team fell to a strong Wawasee team on Saturday 117-68 in NLC action. Lynnsey James won the 100 breaststroke for Goshen. Julie Jesse provided some early sparks by breaking the Wawasee pool record in diving with a score of 242.95. Personal bests were recorded by Gale Immel in the 500 free, Rebecca Ciavari (Che-uh-vari) in the 50 and 100 free, Mariah Shively in the 50 free, and Natalie Hetler in the 100 free. The girls are in action on Thursday at Concord for the Northern Lakes Conference preliminaries. Swimming begins at 5:30. The girls are 6-6 and 3-4 in the conference.
